DIY Lavender Sea Salt Body Scrub Recipe
I noticed my skin always looked better after a day at the beach, which sent me down a rabbit hole researching sea salt scrubs.
Benefits
- Himalayan pink salt exfoliates away dead skin cells and buildup, leaving skin smoother.
- Coconut oil moisturizes and softens skin while you scrub, so you’re not left feeling stripped afterward.
- Honey acts as a natural humectant, helping pull in and hold onto moisture.
- Lavender oil adds a calming, relaxing scent to the whole routine.
- Dried lavender or rose petals give the scrub a gentle, spa-like texture and look.
Ingredients
- 60 ml Coconut Oil (ideally at room temperature, not liquid)
- 150 gr Himalayan Pink Salt
- 6–10 drops Lavender Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
- 1 Tablespoon Dried Lavender or Rose Petals (optional)
Instructions
- Just mix everything until combined.
How to Use
Gently scrub the mixture onto your body while your skin is still wet. Rinse off with lukewarm water using just your hands — skip any additional body wash. Pat dry with a towel.
Keep in mind that if your skin runs oily, the coconut oil can be enough to cause breakouts. Depending on your skin type, either follow up with a gentle cleanser or stick to the rinse-only method above.
My legs tend to run dry, so the rinse-only method leaves them feeling soft and happy. I don’t use it on my butt, though — that area is more prone to breakouts for me. For that special area, I’ve been using Neutrogena Clear Body Scrub for years.
